A unique bed from solid french Walnut.

It al starts with an idea, sketching, finding the right wood, adjusting, designing and finally making. It is a relatively long process, which involves numerous times going back to the drawingboard.

Finding the right wood is a challenge; Where is the wood coming from? Is the wood correctly sawn? Is the wood sufficiently dry? Is it correctly dried? Is there sufficient parts in the wood that I can use? Plenty of things to think about..

European Walnut is know for it’s beautifull grain patterns and high contrast between the heartwood and the sapwood. The sapwood is very light and turns creamy after applying oil. The heartwood consist of many colors of brown and even stripes of black.
